Srinagar, Jan 31 (KNO): A medical camp was set up outside the shrine of Dargah Hazratbal, Srinagar to cater the medical needs of devotees attending the Ashar-e-Sharief on Friday following Mehraj-ul-Alam. The camp was extended to the prayers to accommodate more worshippers and was organised under the banner of Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS). According to details collected by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), under the guidance of expert doctors and the supervision of seniors, the camp provided free consultations, medicines, ECG, and ambulance services to devotees who visited the shrine. Similarly, a team of expert doctors and paramedical staff ensured smooth medical assistance. Moreover, devotees expressed gratitude for the initiative, with Abdul Rasheed, a worshipper from Baramulla, saying the arrangements were excellent. “I was able to get my check-up done without any hassle. Such services make a huge difference for elderly devotees like us,” he said. Another devotee, Shabir Ahmad from Anantnag, shared that he appreciated SKIMS for setting up this medical camp. “The staff was helpful, and having free medicines available was a great relief,” he said. Meanwhile, an official from SKIMS, while speaking with KNO about this camp, said they have sent expert doctors from Medicine, Surgery, Gynaecology, and other departments. “The camp was set up from morning, and after Friday prayers, it started to attract people. By the end of the day, we hope to facilitate 1,000 people,” he said, adding, “We have also set up camps on the 27th, 28th, and today as well.”—(KNO)
